Center Modal
Best for: Important announcements, critical user actions, and high-priority messages
The classic centered modal popup appears in the middle of the screen with a semi-transparent overlay. This position demands user attention and is ideal for messages you want visitors to see and interact with. Center modals work well for age verification, critical announcements, and consent notices.
- Appears centered on screen
- Semi-transparent background overlay
- Blocks interaction with page content until dismissed
- Highest engagement rate
- Best for conversions and critical messages
Bottom Right
Best for: Non-intrusive offers, chat widgets, and promotional messages
A compact popup that slides in from the bottom-right corner of the screen. This position is less intrusive than center modals while still capturing attention. Perfect for email signup offers, chat invitations, and supplementary promotions that don't require immediate interaction.
- Slides in from bottom-right corner
- Doesn't block page content
- Easy to dismiss
- Good for secondary offers
- Works well on mobile devices
Bottom Left
Best for: Alternative positioning, customer support, and help offers
Similar to bottom-right positioning but appears from the left side. Use bottom-left positioning when you want to avoid right-side page elements (like sidebars or live chat widgets) or when you prefer visual balance on the left side of your layout.
- Slides in from bottom-left corner
- Non-intrusive positioning
- Ideal for support or help offers
- Complements right-aligned page elements
Floating Box
Best for: Persistent offers, promotions, and content that should stay visible while scrolling
A floating box that remains visible in a fixed position as the visitor scrolls through your page. The floating box continuously displays your message, making it ideal for offers that should persist throughout the user's entire session.
- Stays in view while scrolling
- Can be positioned in any corner
- Less intrusive than modals
- Ideal for persistent promotions
- Great for mobile engagement

Note: The following positioning options are available only on HashBar Pro plans.
Fullscreen
Best for: Maximum impact announcements, takeovers, and critical campaigns
Covers the entire viewport with your campaign content. Fullscreen popups demand complete attention and are perfect for product launches, major announcements, special events, or exclusive offers where you want 100% visibility.
- Covers entire viewport
- Maximum visual impact
- Highest engagement potential
- Great for special announcements
- Ideal for limited-time offers
Side Panel Left
Best for: Navigation, extended content, and side-by-side information
A panel that slides in from the left edge of the screen, covering approximately 30-50% of the viewport width. Side panels are excellent for displaying detailed information, navigation options, or forms without completely blocking the underlying content.
- Slides in from left edge
- Shows underlying content
- Great for detailed forms and content
- Perfect for mobile-friendly design
- Good for contextual information
Side Panel Right
Best for: Product details, recommendations, and supplementary content
A panel that slides in from the right edge of the screen. Use this position to display product recommendations, additional details, or supplementary content alongside your page. Right-side panels maintain natural reading flow for left-to-right languages.

Positioning Tips
Desktop vs Mobile
All positioning options work on both desktop and mobile devices. However, consider how your popup looks on smaller screens. Side panels may take up more space on mobile, while center modals and corners work well on all screen sizes.
Respecting User Experience
While center modals and fullscreen options have the highest engagement, they can also negatively impact user experience if overused. Reserve the most intrusive positions for your most important campaigns, and use less intrusive positions for secondary offers.
Combining with Triggers
Your positioning choice should work in harmony with your trigger settings. For example, a corner popup triggered on scroll is less annoying than a center modal triggered on entry.
Next Steps
After selecting the right position for your campaign, customize your popup content and media to match your brand and message.
